MMKG Principal Message

Dear parents,

Welcome to the Modern Montessori School’s Kindergarten! As we embark on this educational journey together, it's important to understand the essence of an authentic Montessori programme. While there is no copyright on the term ‘Montessori’, and that name is occasionally used without proper adherence, we are committed to embodying its core principles in theory, in practice and in its' entirety.

In fact, the Modern Montessori School owes its existence to being the first proper full-fledged Montessori Kindergarten in the region, opening its doors in 1985. This legacy culminated in acquiring the Montessori methodology and training capacities of the London Montessori Center in 1994, enhancing its' resources, translating it into Arabic to offer it bilingually and adjusting it with our local culture and identity.

Our goal at the MMKG is to cultivate life skills, self-discipline, and a love for learning in every child. A genuine, full-fledged Montessori programme encompasses several key traits: meticulously trained and certified Montessori teachers dedicated to nurturing each child’s individual development, uninterrupted work periods allowing for focused lessons and exploration, an emphasis on inner discipline and respect rather than external rewards or punishments, and a visually appealing calm environment equipped with specially designed Montessori materials and learning tools.

In our vertically grouped classrooms, older KG children serve as role models for younger peers while also experiencing leadership opportunities and responsibility towards their younger classmates. Through unique, hands-on activities such as practical life exercises, sensorial experiences, language and literacy development, mathematics exploration, cultural studies and art projects, we guide our children from concrete to abstract learning in a supportive environment.

In short, we are dedicated to providing an authentic Montessori experience that integrates teacher guidance with independent exploration – all aimed at fostering the holistic growth of each child. Thank you for joining us on this enriching journey!

Mission

The Modern Montessori Kindergarten’s vision is to provide excellence in KG education by making the benefits of the Montessori Method accessible to the community. Its objective is to prepare the children to reach their full potential and to play a responsible role in protecting the global environment and fostering peace and harmony with the natural processes and community interests. Vision

The focus of the MMKG is to:

Help children to develop self-confidence and self-esteem.
Create a happy and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable to discover and achieve their full potential.
Give the required attention to each child in order to encourage learning and allow each child to progress at his or her own pace.
Stimulate growth by using materials and activities that encourage each child to explore, learn and solve problems.
Encourage and develop essential social skills through critical thinking, independence, and cooperation.
Nurture each child's individual needs by providing a safe, secure and caring environment.
Enhance concentration skills and establish good working habits to discover the joy of learning.

All kindergarten teachers have completed a rigorous teacher training programme run by the ICME.
